Cry (Cigarettes After Sex)
I am really surprised that I am enjoying this band so much. I guess I am a sucker for anything sad and hypnotic. I'm surprised because this is the type of music I expect a self-proclaimed misunderstood "stay away from me because I'll hurt you, but you'll find me irresistible because I'm just so sensitive" kind of dude to listen to. Maybe...I'm that person now lollll I really enjoyed walking around downtown Seattle while listening to this album. I remember one night it started to rain and Heavenly came on. I sort of felt like I was in a movie? Seattle is filled with beautiful people (especially beautiful women I've been noticing more and more lately) and this album sort of made me want to do something spontaneous and romantic. Deep down I really am a romantic person. I just don't attach easily, but when I do, I'm in trouble. I also feel like rich people listen to this type of music. We don't have to justify why we like a certain album though. We like what we like and I'm glad I am reviewing albums again and exploring more music. I've got a new rule where I have to like at least 5 songs on an album to make it to my precious little music blog. This album met that criteria and got extra points for being so cohesive. Perfect dissociating/daydream about women/walk around the city music.
